In May 2000, there were 3000 diverts. In other words, 3000 patients in one month were diverted to another facility.

What is a DIVERT?
Diverts happen when a patient cannot be admitted to a particular hospital due to either:
Lack of staff
Lack of Rooms

The patient is then diverted to another hospital, with no concentration on staying within the network. If the other hospital is not a contracted provider, there are no discounts taken, and the claim is treated as out of network.

This can have a tremndous impact on the patient who will have to pay out of the network charges plus the insurance bill. In addition, the plan does not take advantage of the discount and must pay the retail cost of the claim.

Since MCC, Inc. contracts with all10 Southern Nevada hospitals, not only does this mean convience to your employee, but it also means Peace of mind, and savings.


MCC, INC. HAS AN OPEN PANEL PPO

Although we contract with over 3600 providers, every once in awhile we find one of our members doctors is not on our panel. By having an Open Panel PPO, it allows your employees to request a review of their doctor. If both the provider and MCC, Inc. agree to the contracted terms, the provider will then be added to our PPO making it convenient for our member, your employee.


MCC, INC. UTILIZES ON-SITE MANAGEMENT FOR ON-SITE REVIEW

Unlike other managed care companies, MCC, Inc. does not focus solely on managing inpatient care. Our success at controlling cost and assuring quality is achieved through on-site management. Our nursing staff will review and assess the patient’s care starting from pre-admission through discharge and home health care.


MCC, INC. OFFERS MANY ON-LINE SERVICES FOR OUR PROVIDER, BROKER AND MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS.

MCC, Inc. is always seeking out better and more efficient solutions while creating an integrated delivery system that makes our services easy to access and use.

Many of our providers are on-line with our Utilization Management department through our electronic system. This allows the physicians to electronically request a pre-certification or review, with the ability to attach documents.

MCC Direct offers electronic claims processing.

All necessary forms and documents can be accessed on-line for quick response.
